Joe Giovanello and Deanna Tarentino contacted us to inform us of the passing of our wonderful friend, Lois Berman. She will be missed by many... The following is her Obituary:

On Thursday, November 23, 2023 Lois Jean Berman, age 81, a lifetime resident of Brockton, passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was a beloved and outstanding mother to Tova Finch and her husband Tony Finch, and a devoted grandmother to Rachel and Molly Finch. She leaves behind a multitude of family and friends whom she adored and adored her. She was the beloved daughter of the late Joe and Razil Berman and sister of the late Kenneth Berman. She was very close to her nephew Ron Berman, who now resides in New York.

Lois went to Brockton High School and went on to nursing school in Brockton where she became an LPN. Lois worked in many healthcare settings including psychiatric care in Boston. She had a wide variety of jobs around the area, but most Brocktonians would recognize her as “Lois on the Line”, a local radio and T.V. personality. She helped people by delivering positive affirmations and having inspirational guest speakers. This gave her immense joy knowing she helped others by giving back.

Lois would be the first one to give you the shirt off her back or her last dollar. Lois enjoyed going out to lunch with her friends and traveling. However, nothing made her happier than spending time with her granddaughters Rachel and Molly and bragging about their accomplishments.

All are welcome to visitation on Thurs., Nov. 30th from 3-4 p.m., followed by a 4 p.m. time of remembrance at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton. Private committal. He’d wake up before the sun and his first thought was “how can I make my family’s life easier”?

Charlie was known for his generosity to others. He was always available to lend a helping hand or support to anyone in need. He participated in fundraisers that were close to his (and his childrens’ ) hearts and was always eager to donate blood the moment he was eligible. He regularly chauffeured his grandchildren to and from school and was a regular cheerleader at their sporting events, always making friends in the stands or sidelines. Selfless to the end, he donated his body to UCONN School of Medicine to support students and future physicians develop their skills to one day help others.

Charlie’s wishes were for family and friends to have a celebratory gathering in the spring. Donations in Charlie’s memory can be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital @ stjude.org
