Judy Higgins Donohue reported that our Classmate Francis H. (Fran) Terry, 74, of San Tan Valley, Ariz., died unexpectedly December 12, 2016. Born in Quincy, on December 10, 1942, he was the son of the late Francis J. and Catherine V. Terry. He grew up in Brockton and was a 1960 graduate of Brockton High School as well as a 1966 graduate of Northeastern University and a 2001 MBA graduate of the University of New Hampshire. He started his career as an Electrical Engineer and engineering continued to be a passion throughout his life. He finished out his career as an entrepreneur in the coffee and tea industry. He was a beloved father to his children, Michael Terry and his wife Theresia of Mariehamn, Finland, Dr. Deborah Terry of New Haven, Conn., Patricia Lancey of Atkinson, N.H., Lynda Terry and her fiance Jason Daoust of Pittsfield, Mass., Donna Keller and her husband Eric of North Reading, Mass. and Chris Terry and his wife Noelle of Hudson, N.H. He was very proud of his 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He leaves sisters Marjorie Terry, Karen McGillis, Virginia Terry and brother William Terry. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Terry. Al Galante Reported to Judy Higgins Donohue on October 3rd, that Our Classmate Frank Stoddard passed away following a long illness.
Frank Stoddard of Weymouth, 74, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Oct. 2, 2016 after a long illness. Frank was a graduate of Brockton High School and Northeastern University where he played in the band. He was a sportswriter at the Brockton Enterprise for 47-years, many of them spent as the newspaper's high school sports editor, and a career that began as an intern while at Northeastern. He was a teacher at Cardinal Spellman High School from 1966 to 1977. Frank had a lifelong love of learning and enhanced his teaching of history by making slides of historical sites he visited during his teaching years. He won awards for his series on athletes and drugs and was involved in many clubs and associations, including the Golf Writers Association of America and the Brockton City Four Ball Tournament Committee. He extended his love of school sports into several basketball and soccer coaching positions at area high schools, including Archbishop Williams, Cardinal Spellman, Weymouth North and Weymouth South high schools as well his daughters' town and travel soccer teams.
Music was a large part of Frank’s life. He directed the Cardinal Spellman orchestra for their annual musical. He was a member of the First Church choir and loved playing the part of Dick Deadeye in a church production of HMS Pinafore. He also served on the church Finance Committee for several years. Frank loved Christmas and all its preparations. Everyone looked forward to the cookies he baked for the season. He enjoyed shopping for holiday toys. He made sure all children present at the large family Christmas party received a toy. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Marcia (Dillon), his daughter Catherine Johns and her husband George of Lakeville, his daughter Sarah Wenstrom and her husband Kristopher of Norwood. He was the proud grandfather of Allyson, Rebecca, and Lily Johns and Rachel and Marisa Wenstrom. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Oakes of Bridgewater as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours Friday, Oct. 7 from 4-8 at CC Shepherd Funeral Home, Columbian Square, South Weymouth. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Church in Weymouth, 17 Church Street. Tom Chew Reported that our Classmate Mary Ellen Kenney has passed on. The following is Mary's obituary:
Mary Ellen (Kenney) Wilbur, age 73, of Brockton, passed away peacefully after a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimers on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was a daughter of the late Arthur E. and Arlene (Record) Kenney. A lifelong resident of Brockton, she was a 1960 graduate of Brockton High School and earned her nursing degree at Massasoit Community College. She worked as a registered nurse in the labor and delivery departments at Goddard Hospital in Stoughton as well as Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton for many years. Mary will be remembered as a hard working woman who was very dedicated to her family and career. She enjoyed day trips, the beach, shopping, and especially cherished time spent with her family and friends. Mary was most proud of her children and grandchildren. Mary is survived by her three children, Juli A. Samsel of Brockton, Kimberly S. Barry and her husband Shawn of Bridgewater and Christopher C. Samsel and his wife Kalen of Taunton; six grandchildren, Camryn, Jack, Luke and Lacey Barry, and Alex and Evan Samsel; her siblings, Nancy E. Lipper and her husband William and Sylvia J. MacLeod and her husband Malcom, both of Brockton; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Sunday 3-6 p.m. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Monday at 8 a.m. for a 9 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Judy Higgins Donohue just received sad news from one of the daughter's of our classmate, Mary Minnehan, that her mother, Mary Minnehan Loring of Brooksville, Florida, passed away May 2016. The following is Mary's Obituary.
LORING, Mary, age74, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at HPH Hospice Care Center. She was born in Brockton, MA and came to the area 16 years ago from Gilford, NH. She was a medical assistant and Catholic by faith. She was a member of AARP and moveon.org. She is survived by son: Kevin M. William P. Bill Kupchun, age 74, of Middleboro, formerly of Bridgewater and Brockton, died unexpectedly, May 9, 2016, at his home. Bill was a carpenter for many years in the Brockton area and was proud to have been a 50-year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Local 624. He was also a member of the Bridgewater Citizens Club and Mitchell Memorial Club. Bill will be remembered as an honest man who spoke his mind, and truly enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Rosemary Bell and her husband Doug, William Kupchun and his wife Gail; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a niece and many cousins. He was the brother of the late Thomas Kupchun. A celebration of Bills life will be held on Saturday, May 14, from 12 to 4:00 p.m. at Bridgewater Citizens Club, 60 Hale Street, Bridgewater. Paula W. (Stevens) Erickson, age 73, of Brockton, died April 15, 2016 at Signature Healthcare-Brockton Hospital. She was the devoted wife for 45 years of the late James A. Erickson. Paula was born in Pawtucket, R.I., daughter of the late Paul R. and Mary (Willard) Stevens. Raised in Hartford, Vt. and Brockton, Mass., she was a graduate of Brockton High School. Paula received her Bachelors Degree from Bridgewater State College and her Masters Degree in Psychology from Boston College. For many years she was a psychologist at North East Health Services in Brockton, retiring in 2015. She remained passionate about her work that touched so many lives through the years. She was an avid gardener who also enjoyed sewing and exercise. However, her happiest moments were spending time with her family. Paula was the loving mother of Peter Thorburn of Taunton, Douglas Thorburn and his wife Darcie of Hinesburg, Vt.; Mark Thorburn and his wife Julie of Snellville, Ga., Roland Thorburn of Stoughton and Jennifer Erickson and her husband Erik Arthur of Natick. She leaves 8 grandchildren Brittany, Trevor, Kylie, Connor, Cameron, Grace and Evan Thorburn, Keira Arthur and several nieces and nephews.

GREGORY, Lucille Y. (Yenovkian) 73 of Brockton, passed away on April 9, 2016. Born on July 16, 1942 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Helene (Bedarian) Yenovkian. Lucille enjoyed spending time with her friends and going to the movies. She was devoted to her family and was a longtime ER Nurse at Brockton Hospital and Good Samaritan. Lucille was the beloved wife of the late Christopher Gregory. Devoted mother of Michelle Allaire McNulty and her husband John of Quincy and Roger Allaire and his wife Kamila of Norwell. Robert Timothy Donahue, 73, of Brockton, passed away on April 1, 2016, after a brief illness. Robert "Bob" was the husband of Carol A. (O'Brien), for 49 years. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Timothy and Isabel (Riordan), and brother of the late John. He graduated from Brockton High School class of 1960. Robert served the city of Brockton as a dedicated employee of the Water Department fort 43 years, retiring in 2005 as the General Foreman. He enjoyed sports, particularly hockey, and was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots. He also enjoyed working on and driving "muscle cars" as a young man. In addition to his wife, he is survived by their two sons, Timothy R. and his wife Michelle; and Brian M. and his wife Lisa. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Megan, Marc, Trevor, Talia, and Mason. We received word from Larry Belton, that his wife and our Classmate, Grace Houde Belton, Passed away on Jan. 2, 2016 Here is her Obituary:
Grace A. Belton, 74, of Port St. Lucie passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 with her loving husband by her side. Grace was born in Augusta, Maine. She had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for the past five years coming from Lexington, NC. She was preceded in death by her brother, Phil Houde.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Larry Belton of Port St. Lucie, FL; one daughter, Jennifer Belton and her husband David Marcrander both of Hudson, NY; one sister, Ruth and her husband Al Fiore; one sister-in-law, Patricia Houde; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Friday, January 8, 2016 at Aycock FH-Byrd, Young & Prill Chapel, 1170 SW Bayshore Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983. A Funeral Service was held at 6:00 pm in our chapel.

Janet E. (Sebelia) ODea, age 73, of Yarmouth, MA and Escondido, CA, died unexpectedly, February 26, 2016 at Palomar Medical Center in CA. Janet was the wife of Gerald F. ODea. She was born in Brockton to the late Amadell J. and Joan F. (Baynes) Sebelia. Janet was a 1960 graduate of Brockton High School and had been a lifelong resident of Brockton until 1996. For the last many years she and Jerry have made their home between California and Cape Cod. In her work life Janet worked for the District Attorneys Office in Brockton, the department of Victims Advocacy for the Attorney General in Boston and finally finishing her career as an Administrative Assistant for the Town of Dennis. She had a voracious appetite for a good book, anything Elephant and that perfect place to travel. Although she had many joys, she most enjoyed raising her three sons and spending time with her granddaughters. In addition to her husband Jerry she is survived by her sons; Andrew J. and Thomas E. both of Brockton and Christopher G. of Ridgecrest, CA; her sisters Jean Kelliher of Brockton and Patricia Mathews of N. Falmouth; her granddaughters Emma, Madeleine and Jessica as well as 5 great-grandchildren. Diane (Fishman) Pavelchak, a longtime resident of the area, died on January 9, 2016 at the Achieve Rehab & Nursing Facility in Liberty. She was 73. The daughter of the late John Fishman & Sophie Dulgatz Fishman, she was born June 4, 1942 in Boston. Mass. She was the widow of John Pavelchak who predeceased her on April 6, 2013. She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Swift & her husband Rick of Monticello; and her brother: Robert Fishman & his wife Gail of Boynton Beach, FL.
