With Sadness: iPatricia L. Piscatelli, 69, of Raynham, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Morton Hospital in Taunton of complications from a lengthy illness.
Born September 16, 1942 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Paul Piscatelli and Annette (Zarrella) Piscatelli. She graduated from Brockton High School in 1960 and pursued a career in computer programming.
Patty loved everything about Boston, especially the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots and the food. Her gaming competitiveness took family game nights to new levels as she holds titles in Shanghi, 45 and Bunco. Patty is survived by her daughters, Sheri Spillane Goldie, Lori Hemming and her husband Michael, II and Kristin Kelleher all of Olathe, Kansas; her grandchildren, Antonia, Mike, III, Fletcher and Harrison; her brothers, Paul Piscatelli and his wife Beth and Ron Piscatelli and his wife Ellen all of San Diego, CA; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held in the Copley Room at the Life Care Center of Raynham, 546 South Street East, Raynham on Tuesday, January 3rd at 3:00PM. |

11/30/2011: Sad news to report: Our BHS '60 Classmate, Sherman (Sherm) Prouty passed away on November 14, 2011.
BARRE TOWN — Sherman Milne Prouty, 69, of Gold Spur Lane, passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. His wife and children were at his bedside.
Born March 20, 1942, in Brockton, Mass., he was the son of Paul and Vivian Prouty. In 1960, he graduated from Brockton High School and then attended Tilton Academy in New Hampshire. In 1965, he graduated from the University of Vermont in Burlington with a degree in business. He had been a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
Besides his wife, Judith, he leaves behind his daughter, Kimberly Prouty, of San Francisco, and his son, David Prouty, and his wife, Eve, of Napa, Calif., as well as four granddaughters, Keira, Maya and twins Vivian and Lillian Prouty. Also his brother Dr. W. Robert Prouty and his wife, Maura, of Norwell, Mass., three nephews and a niece, Robert, Scott, Kurt and Heather Prouty, and their families.
Sherman will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
His funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St. in Barre. Burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery in Barre Town following the service. There are no calling hours.

9/15/2011: We received a report from Judy Donohue that our classmate and friend, Bob Looney, died yesterday afternoon at home after a long and valiant battle with leukemia. Bob was a key member of our class Reunion Committees and spent many hours over the years helping to plan the events that brought us all together. He faced life head-on, bringing high energy, humor and contagious enthusiasm to everything he did. Even after he became ill, he continued to energize and inspire us. Visiting hours will be held at Magoun-Biggins Funeral home on Union street in Rockland, MA on Monday. Sept. 19, from 5-8 p.m. A service will be held there Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 11 a.m.

Robert E. Looney, Jr. 69 of Rockland died at his home on September 14, 2011 after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of 42 years to Kathleen M. (McCarthy) Looney. Loving father of Christopher R. and his wife Tricia Crimi-Looney of Marshfield and Brendan M. Looney of CA. Devoted grandfather of Samantha and Nathan Looney of Marshfield. Bob is survived by his siblings Judith Merra of Brockton, Norrine Burnett of Mattapoisett, and Richard Looney of FL, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Donald W. Looney and his sister Gloria McEnteggart.
Bob was born in Brockton, son of the late Robert E. and Albina (Svirsky) Looney and was raised and educated there graduating from Brockton High School in 1960, and later the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1968. Although he lived in Rockland for 36 years he always considered himself a "Brockton Boy." He served diligently on many reunion committees and always attended the impromptu get together's at George's Café.
Mr. Looney served in the U.S. Army before attending college. After earning his college degree he worked as a salesman for several companies. From 1980 until his retirement he served in many capacities with the Mac-Gray Company of Cambridge, providing laundry services to colleges and universities. He was an active, well respected member of many organizations in the industry and travelled widely on company business always managing to include golf matches along the way.
Although illness prevented Bob from attending any Red Sox Games for the past two seasons, he still bought his seasons tickets as he had for 40 years and followed the team religiously. Bob was also an enthusiastic and committed member of the Thorny Lea Golf Course in Brockton, thoroughly enjoying both the game and the friendships he formed there.
A loyal and steadfast friend, Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew him over the past decades and who enjoyed his warmth, wit and sense of humor. He was a true gentleman.
The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland on Monday, September 19, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday September 20, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home.

Sad News: Judy Donohue reports that our classmate Albert C. Yucius, age 68, of West Bridgewater died July 22, 2011, after a period of failing health. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Albert J. and Mary (Krachukoski) Yucius. Al graduated from Brockton High School in 1960 and RETS Technical School in 1962. For many years he had been employed as an Electrical Engineer for Baker Brothers, and had patented several automated plating systems. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War era and was a member of the American Legion in Whitman.
Al is survived by his daughter Tatiana Yucius of California, a brother David Yucius of Plymouth, nieces and nephews and former wife Leslie Yucius of Stoughton.

Obituary: Louis J. Lombardi, 68, of East Bridgewater, died peacefully at his home on March 27, 2011, surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with Lymphoma. He was the beloved husband of Christine M. (Borgeson) Lombardi. Born and raised in Brockton, son of the late Michael A. and Rossina (Dodero) Lombardi. He was a graduate of Brockton High School class of 1960, and attended Wentworth Institute. Louis retired from ADT in 2007 after 35 years as a Fire Alarm Inspector and had previously been employed by Abington Fire Department as a Paramedic and Randy Boat Shoe.
Determined to live life to the fullest, Louis had many interests including collecting T-Birds and showing them at car shows, flying, hunting, fishing, traveling, and growing fruit trees in his backyard. He was a lifetime member of Hanson Rod & Gun Club and a member of IBEW Local 103. However, his grandchildren brought him the most enjoyment in his life, with NASCAR racing running a close second.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters Linda Azanow and her husband David of Natick, Lauri Lombardi of Taunton, Patti Tibnam and her husband Jon of S. Attleboro, Sharon Politano and her husband Joe of Taunton, his grandchildren Ericka, Kelsey and Ben Derouen of East Bridgewater, Alysha, Dominic and Joshua Politano of Taunton, Jacob, Katie, and Adam Azanow of Natick, Kaylee and Benjamin Tibnam of S. Attleboro, his godson and great grandchild Ryan Woolf of East Bridgewater. He also leaves his brother Michael A. Lombardi, Jr. of Brockton; his aunt Teresa Grebauski of Brockton; many cousins and close friend Michelle Derouen of East Bridgewater. He was the grandfather of the late Riley Politano.

3/24/2011: We have recently learned that our classmate Georgette Tougas Ippolito passed away in 2003. Georgette and her husband Richard Ippolito (BHS '58) had been living in Myrtle Beach, SC for the past 30 years.

Robert "Bob" E. Dennehy, 69, of Mashpee, formerly of Randolph, passed away peacefully after a long illness Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at the McCarthy Care Center, Sandwich. He was a graduate of Brockton High School in 1960 and Northeastern Institute of Technology. Bob was employed by the town of Randolph for 25 years as an electrician and served in later years as the Director of Maintenance. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was stationed for two years at Woods Hole on Cape Cod during the Kennedy Administration. Bob was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Bob leaves his wife, Carol (Dwyer) of 46 years; his four children, Peggy and her husband Paul Hambly of Mashpee, Michael and his wife Jennifer of Harwich, Steven and his wife Christine of Norton, and Kellie and her husband Thomas O'Brien of Holden. He also leaves his nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Bernice Dennehy; and his two brothers, William Jr. and John Dennehy. 2/1/2011 - We just found out that Edwin F. Guillemette age 69, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 8, 2010 at his home. He was born in Brockton, Mass., the son of Frederick and Virginia Guillemette. Edwin was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals, including the Bronze Star. He served 20 years with distinction in the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He later went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and enjoyed a successful career at DFAS, where he retired in 2000. The discipline and determination he learned in the Army never left him, as friends and family will attest. Edwin is survived by his loving wife, Nellie and two children, Joseph and Mary Guillemette. He was interred in Arlington National Cemetery.

Vidas J. Venckauskas, age 69, of Abington, formerly of Brockton, died Jan. 18, 2011. He was born in Lithuania to Jonas and Ona (Barulis) Venckauskas. The family immigrated to the United States in 1949 settling in Brockton. Vid was a 1960 graduate of Brockton High School and a 1963 graduate of Burdette College. He worked as a salesman for many years for the Simeone Corporation of Stoughton and TL Edwards of Avon. Vid enjoyed hunting and fishing; as well as cooking and was a member of the Old Colony Sportsmens Club in Pembroke. He is survived by his wife, Jane M. (Sheehan) Venckauskas of Abington; his children, Edward and his wife Jill of Middleboro, Kristina Day and her husband Michael of Belmont and Stephanie Millett and her husband George of East Bridgewater; his sister, Jaruna Banaitis of Canton; and his grandchildren, Kayla, Kevin, Matthew, Lauren, Allison, Briana, Brittany and Kiley. Visitation in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Sunday 2-6 p.m. Funeral home ceremony Monday at 12:30 p.m. Cremation will follow.
